Janice Goodman lives in Houston Texas with her partner, Gyla. Janice has played different forms of poker all her life but only started playing Texas Hold’em about five years ago. She had watched people playing Hold Em in the casino for quite awhile but didn’t know much about the game. When WPT came on the air it sparked her interest to learn more. She and Gyla started playing on the internet but it wasn’t long before they were playing in the casinos.

Her real love of poker was born during a tip to Tunica in January of 2005 and she and Gyla played their first live tournament. Janice didn’t do well in the tourney but Gyla made it to the final table. After that trip they were both hooked on tournament play.

Since then it has become Janice’s passion. Janice’s poker accomplishment that she is most proud of occurred in the 2006 Ladies World Series of Poker when she finished 28th out of 1128 women. Unfortunately, Poker isn’t legal in Texas so she only gets to play live tourneys on occasional trips to Louisiana and Las Vegas. In between trips she hones her skills online.

Currently Janice is working on opening up her game and learning to read the other players better. She writes about her progress in her blog and welcomes any and all comments and suggestions the readers make. She hopes that readers will find things there to help them as well.
