I'm Estie Peiper, 42 years old, married, have a 12 year old daughter, and currently living in Las Vegas.  I was born and raised in the beautiful country South Africa, but because of economic reasons, left for the US in 1998.  My first two years in the States were in Miami, but the humidity chased me north and I ended up in Atlanta, GA for the following 6 years.  It was there where I learned to play poker, a result of dating someone (my current husband) who was playing poker as well as the big poker bang on television, so obviously I just wanted to find out what the big ado was about.

I learned Hold'em mostly by playing home games and bar tournaments, since of course, being right in the middle of the Bible belt, gambling is a big no-no in good 'ole Georgia.

In December 2004, I drove down to Biloxi and played in a real poker room in a casino for the first time.  I bought in for $100, played for 36 hours straight and cashed out just over $500.  Thinking back, I have no idea how I managed to make a profit, I was definitely the fish at the table, you know, the one who always get lucky and suck out on you – that was me.

In 2006, I got married to the reason for my poker playing and we moved to the mothership, Las Vegas.

I mostly play tournaments and occasionally wander over to the NL tables if I feel like donating and can't find a suitable charity.  There are seems to be people at the NL tables needing my money.

Tournaments have been profitable for me so far, though I only play in lower buy-ins ($60 - $200) where I feel most comfortable.

This blog is a collection of my poker experiences and thoughts, at and away from the poker table.
